Tommy at 17-18 months

We've had a lovely late fall -- the roses were blooming well into October. (They don't call Portland the "Rose City" for nothing!)

But, pretty soon, fall did arrive -- then we had all sorts of leaves on the ground in the back yard.

Funny though, Mom insisted on putting them all in the yard waste recycling bin...I tried to help, but it was slow going.

Then one day Dad dressed me up in this funny outfit. (Mom was giving a paper in Boston.) I wasn't too happy when they tried to put my hat on!

So we comprimised and lost the hat.
I was a bit happier when I was outside -- they had things that glow AND people kept giving me things. Trick or Treat!

We're spending more time indoors these days and I've mastered a few new skills.. like sitting down in chairs (and not climbing into them)!

I've also discovered a sudden interest in books of all sorts.

.

I read when I come inside. And, just like Mom and Dad, I sometimes read while I eat lunch.

My very favorite book is my truck book, though. We read that at least 10 times a day!

I don't spend all my time reading. I've discovered that toys are more than something to chew on.
I like cars and trains and I'm learning to give Pooh a ride.

Anything to do with balls is fun, and I'm beginning to learn to build a few things as well.

I like puzzles an awful lot too (and sometimes I can actually do it myself!)

So, now winter is coming. I'm learning to dress in layers, like all good Oregonians. I may even be making a Christmas list!
(Now I just need to learn how to say all these things. Otherwise, I'll end up getting cheese, trains, juice, shoes, the moon and a few other things.)

So, I lead a busy life. Many days, I run myself (and my poor dad and mom) simply ragged!
